Balearean Boc hunting country

Hunting in Spain

Balearean Boc

Balearean Boc hunting in Mallorca takes place in steep coastal mountain terrain defined by sheer rock faces, narrow ledges, and dramatic drops to the sea. Much of the day is spent glassing along cliffs and across broken limestone country, locating mature boc as they move through exposed, rugged ground.

Once a suitable animal is identified, the hunt becomes a careful and often technical stalk, using rock formations and limited cover to work into position. Stalks are frequently exposed and physically demanding, with precise footwork and steady nerves required to move safely through this unique and challenging terrain.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Typical shooting distance?

Typical shooting distances range from roughly 100 to 400 yards. We take the time to ensure hunters are set up comfortably, shooting from a solid position and using equipment they trust, so every shot can be taken cleanly and confidently.

Can I bow hunt it?

Yes, but it is one of the most challenging species with the bow. All of our guides are active bowhunters and know what’s required to close the distance on these animals.

What rifle/calibre do you recommend?

We recommend calibres from 6.5mm and up. If you plan to bring your own rifle, we’ll discuss the species beforehand and make sure your setup is appropriate. We also have mountain rifles available, all chambered in 7mm PRC.

What level of fitness do I require?

A low to medium level of fitness is required for this hunt. While it is mountain hunting it all depends on the time of the year to know where the animals will be. In certain months they are lower down and easier to access.

“This property has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. Views from the rooms and terrace are amazing… Great traditional Spanish food, giving you a real taste of the area… we stayed in the Lynx room which was fantastic.”
